Hey there, beautiful!

My name is Taunia May, and I’m a certified health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I work with women to help them find that zest for life again, to regain confidence and proudly be themselves!


I created this program because…..

I was struggling to be happy and healthy.  Just 5 years ago I was struggling with my weight, stressed with balancing work and family, and just flat out unhappy with life.  It was hard for me to be happy with myself.  I was 50 lbs. overweight with pain in my joints and back, feeling miserable because I hated every piece of clothing in my closet but I just did not like to go shopping either.  I had become very unhappy and moody.  I did not like myself at all.  It was a vicious cycle.I was even more perplexed because I was eating the standard American diet, what I thought was a healthier version of it.  I had chicken or turkey, fish, (occasional red meat) salads, veggies and fruit, and yet my weight would just not budge.

Then I went in for an annual physical and my doctor said my cholesterol was so high that he wanted to put me on medication.  The only other medication I was on was for heartburn and GERD, so I did not like to take pills.  After talking with my doctor, we agreed to see if I could change my labs with diet and exercise.  So, I went to work right away eating primarily plant based foods, but also lowering my stress (ironically losing a job was less stressful than having one then).

Within that 6 months, I lost about 25 lbs, but more importantly my blood work was better than normal!  I was beginning to feel more like myself.  I had something to be proud of and was fitting into clothes that hadn’t fit for years!  Amazingly enough my skin issues even went away and I now know what causes them.

I have stayed on this journey and even decided I wanted to help others realize they have the power in them to make improve their overall wellness with diet and lifestyle changes.  That’s when I decided to go to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to learn better how to help others have the same success that I did.

I found this journey to be incredibly liberating! I now have so much energy and actually enjoy those small things in life that I took for granted when I was so stressed out! I know this is a lifestyle change and I want to help others to see how they have that power within themselves as well.
